I prefer to play music together with others, so recording a solo album was never artistically appealing to me. Then came the pandemic. And the war in Europe, long accustomed to peace. And above all, as the ultimate sword of Damocles, climate change. From this feeling of powerlessness, it made artistic sense to look for answers to the question of what an individual can do.
So I recorded a pure piano album. No overdubs, no effects, no fancy synths, no preparations. Just the piano, the DLF chamber music hall - and me.

As dispensing with physical sound carriers saves resources and avoids waste from overproduction, "Power", my 12th album as (co-)leader, will be released as a purely digital album on my own label for the records. To offset unavoidable emissions from production and digital use, 10% of the sales proceeds are donated to BUND moorland protection projects.
"Power" won't be released on Spotify & co. until much later - if at all. Another question of power.
